Verified by Visa is a simple, password-protected identity-checking service that takes the risk out of online shopping for you and your customers. With Verified by Visa it has been added an extra layer of security that verifies the legitimacy of both parties in an online transaction.

How it works

Visa provides secure, convenient payment solutions for every retail environment, whether a purchase takes place in a physical store or remotely over the internet or on the telephone. Through a simple checkout process, Verified by Visa confirms your identity when you make purchases at participating online stores. It's convenient, and it works with your existing Visa card. You register your card just once, and create your own password. Then, when you make purchases at participating online stores, a Verified by Visa window will appear. Simply enter your password and click submit. Your identity is verified and the purchase is secure. At stores that aren't participating in Verified by Visa yet, your Visa card will continue to work as usual.

You can activate the service Verified by Visa at your Visa card issuing bank or organization.

Making a purchase is easy:
1. Choose what you want to buy
2. Go to the payment page
3. Enter your visa card details
4. The website will notify the possibility to take advantage of Verified by Visa
5. Your personal message will confirm that the issuing bank or organization is requesting your password
6. Type your password and click 'enter'
7. Your identity has been confirmed
8. Purchase completed
